Lower School Professional Development Highlights the Power of Small Group Instruction

During the Lower School Professional Development Day on February 13, 1st through 3rd grade General and Judaic Studies teachers, along with learning specialists, participated in a dynamic session focused on the importance of small group instruction. The session emphasized how this approach helps meet the diverse needs of all students.

Through engaging discussions and classroom video showcases, faculty explored best practices for implementing small group instruction. Following the session, 20 faculty members took part in a “Small Group Observation Tour,” where they visited two different classrooms, observed teaching strategies in action, and reflected on how to incorporate what they saw into their own practice.

Afterward, educators gathered in mixed-grade-level groups to debrief and share insights. The experience was both meaningful and inspiring, strengthening our culture of collaborative learning and professional growth. It marks an exciting step forward in our continued commitment to learning from one another.
