Yael Safran Receives Jerry Gottesman Award for the Pursuit of Teaching Excellence
Mazel tov to First Grade Hebrew Teacher and Judaic Studies faculty member Yael Safran on being Golda Och Academy’s recipient of the Jerry Gottesman Award for the Pursuit of Teaching Excellence at this year’s Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ Quest Conference Express, organized by Greater MetroWest NJ Day School Initiative, and mazel tov to all the recipients from our partner schools.
The Jerry Gottesman Fund for the Pursuit of Teaching Excellence is a $250,000 endowment of the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater MetroWest NJ (JCF) created in memory of the day school benefactor and leader, who died in September 2017 while in Israel with family. Gottesman, with his wife, Paula, was the initiative’s lead benefactor for more than a decade and first envisioned the partnership of the denominationally diverse schools.
Winners of the award are selected by their respective schools based on “demonstrated exceptional initiative in professional learning and collaboration.”
