6th-8th grades: $ 5,000
9th grades: $ 7,000
10th-12th grades: $ 5,000

 25% – 70% of tuition depending on assets, income and expenses.

The maximum tuition reduction available is 70%

Eligibility

New and returning students

Income Guideline: Tuition is more than 10% of income up to a maximum income of $300,000 for families with multiple children in the school. Eligibility does not guarantee a grant award.

New and returning students

There is no fixed income range for this need-based program.

Disclosure Required Most recent IRS Form 1040 (without schedules), disclosure of projected income. 

Detailed asset, income and expense disclosure required.

Full IRS Form 1040 (with all schedules) and most recent W-2’s required. If income is derived from other sources, supporting documentation is required.

Multi-year? Yes, grants are provided for up to four years.

Yes, for up to four years if applicant has W-2 income that doesn’t vary significantly from year to year.

Decision Process

CFO, Foundation board member and community member review and allocate available grants.

Confidential Process:  Applicant names and application details are seen only by the CFO and not shared with the committee members.

Committee of professionals, led by CFO, reviews outcome of objective financial assessment of application.

Family’s calculated ability to pay is compared to family’s stated ability to pay. 

Funding Source Och Endowment Annual Shomrei Torah Campaign, Federation allocations, targeted fundraising, endowment earnings.
