Clubs, Funtracks and Aftercare
Our Lower School students have many opportunities for enrichment, fun and learning outside the confines of regular class time. We offer many clubs and activities for our students during lunch. In addition, we are pleased to offer “Funtracks,” our after-school enrichment program, and Aftercare.
Except as noted, all our clubs meet during recess – particularly during the winter months when we can’t always go outside – and include the following:
- Band (one class period during the week and Mondays after school)
- Book Club – led by our librarian
- Choir
- Environmental Club
- Israel Club
- Israeli Dancing
- LEGO Robotics
- Marble Club
- Math Club
- Science Olympiad - meets after school one day a week and culminates in a science tournament with other day schools.
- Songs in Sign Language
- The Spark (Our Lower School Newspaper)
Our “Funtracks” program offers a variety of classes for an hour after school. Sign-up is for a two month period; classes may vary with the seasons and with each sign-up period. Classes offered may include the following:
- Chess
- Cooking
- Crocheting
- Hip Hop
- LEGOWorks
- Mad Science
- Martial Arts
- Musical Theater
- Soccer
- World Drumming
- Yoga
We offer Aftercare until 6:00 PM (until 4:00 PM on Fridays). The program includes an after-school snack, homework time (and help, if necessary) and supervised play outdoors or in the gym.
