Israel – In Our Neshama (soul)!
At Golda Och Academy, we believe that students who graduate from a Jewish day school should have a lifelong relationship with Israel and its people. As such, we offer countless opportunities for our students in all grades to create connections to the Jewish state. From Pre-K to 12th grade, Golda Och Academy helps develop in our students a love for and support of the State of Israel and Zionism that will be part of the core of their Jewish identity as adults.
From Israeli dancing to visits by Israeli shelihim (emissaries) and holiday celebrations, our younger students experience Israeli culture and tradition. Our High School students collaborate with their Israeli peers throughout their High School years in various programs. In addition, they explore their relationship to Israel and experience Judaism in an inspiring Jewish atmosphere when they visit Israel twice during High School.
Naale, our 10-day Israel trip for 9th graders, offers many group activities aimed at getting to know Israel better, exploring the students’ relationship to the country and allowing students to get to know their classmates in a non-academic setting.
Neshama is the capstone of the Jewish day school experience for our students. Our seniors have the option of spending the second semester of their senior year in Israel (beginning with a week in Eastern Europe), developing a even deeper sense of Jewish identity and love for Israel.
